SCULPTURE – Inspiration, Process & Intent
This short video captures the essence of my inspiration, process and intent, including footage of dance, drawing, welding and enamel (glass) on steel processes. Beautifully filmed and produced by ENGAGE PHOTO AND VIDEO in Portland Oregon.
CREATIVE DANCE PORTLAND
Much of my work originates in dance – from the actual experience of dancing, as well as from drawing the dancers and capturing the movement in gesture drawings and paintings,. I often re-create them into 3D form, build them in steel and enamel (layers of glass) on the steel surface of these sculptures, wall reliefs or jewelry. This video beautifully captures the essence of the group dances I have enjoyed exploring with Creative Dance Portland. Led by Yael Schweitzer at Opening to Life Studio. Video produced by ENGAGE PHOTO AND VIDEO. Enjoy!
Enameling Process – Sgraffito (scratching) into Granular Spray layer
Alisa demonstrates the sgraffito process, drawing (scratching) into the liquid enamel layer which has been applied with the granular spray method. A small 2 inch sample panel titled “dancing with tree” is shown in process in this fast paced video.
