Humility Rising

Vitreous Enamel (glass) on Hammered and Welded Steel 6.5 x 6.5 x 4.5 inches Currently exhibiting in the Enamelist Society's International Biennial – Alchemy 6. An exploration in humility, grappling with climate change. The base is a hurricane, nature’s powerful response. The humble stature of the body with one wing down in humility and one wing reaching for the strength to fly. On the feathers many eyes are waking up, listening to nature, how to respond.

Teaching Grace

Mother holds her hand up high, allowing a bird to perch safely away from the child's reach. They are standing on a cloud, to denote the magic of the moment. Intended to inspire appreciation of nature's precious wildness, while also stirring curiosity, joy and wonder.

Folding Into Nature

Vitreous Enamel (glass) on Hammered Steel 8.75 x 10 x 9.5 inches Folding Into Nature is the title piece for my current body of work, exploring how we as humans are coping with the environmental and cultural challenges we are facing. This body of work explores the many ways we find meaningful moments amidst these challenges, even joy, reaching for a calm acceptance of what is. This piece is my way of coming to terms with how we as humans are folding back into nature as our time on earth is limited.

Vitreous Enamel (glass) on Hammered Steel, seed pod, copper wire 7 x 4 x 3 inches (approx) The design for “Healing Tree - Plant Trees to Restore Balance” was inspired by the Tree Sisters, who are making it their mission to plant millions of trees in the tropics to restore the lungs of the earth and absorb carbon. They have chosen to plant in the tropics where trees grow fast and can combat climate change the quickest. A portion of proceeds from this piece will be donated to treesisters.org to support this mission.

Body Memory

Body Memory Porcelain Enamel on Hammered Steel 12.5" h x 10.25" x 4" d Body Memory – depicts my own history, body memories (muscle and cell memories) and meaningful moments of my life for which I am grateful. This is the first sculpture in an ongoing Memory and Gratitude Series made to honor people. With this series my intent is to honor people, their history, and the contributions they have made. I am offering this approach on a commission basis to honor the lives of others, to acknowledge their most meaningful moments, personal history and life experience.
